Minecraft on Xbox

While some savvy 360 owners have been playing Minecraftknock offs for some time now, the rest of you will get your chance to try the real deal in Spring of 2012. It isn't going to have all the features of its PC counterpart when it releases, but the XBLA version of Mojang's fantastic open-world create-anything-you-want game is still fun and addictive. And it has at least one component that all Minecraft players should envy.

The 360 version of Minecraft is still largely the same game. You drop into a world composed of various types of cubes, chipping away at them in an effort to gather resources and create new tools and items. At night monsters come out, forcing you to build structures to survive. It has a lot of the same appeal as working with a box of LEGO, only here you have to actually mine the right types of blocks to be able to make the various structures conceived in your mind's eye. You can play it just to go nuts creating, or you can build armor and weapons and go spelunking in caves, exploring and hunting for precious minerals. Minecraft isn't meant to be played a specific way, but rather is intended to be a true sandbox for you to play around in.

How to change texture pack in Minecraft

In this tutorial I am going to show you how to change texture your pack in your Minecraft :

Texture pack is a collection of files that is used to change the in-game textures of blocks, items, mobs and the GUI. They are .ZIP files that various PNG images in them and the pack .txt. The native resolution of Minecraft is  16
×16 (measured pixels in block height and widht). 32×32, 64×64, 128×128, 256×256 and 512×512 are reffered as 'HD' and requires a 3rd party patcher to run.

Installation guide
1. Download a texture pack in a ZIP file format, do not unzip.

2. Run Minecraft. If you already have minecraft running, make sure you save and quit the world. You need to be in in main menu to continue.

3. Click Texture Packs button and you will see that you only have classic texture pack.

4. You need to go to this location and put the .ZIP file on this location.
Windows XP/vista/7 : %appdata% \ .minecraft \ texturepacks
Linux : / .minecraft / texturepacks
Mac OS X :  /Libary /Application Support/minecraft/texturepacks (This folder may be hidden)

5. Open Texture Packs again and you will se another icon representing new texture pack

6. Select it and click OK

Minecraft mod : better than Wolves

This is an interesting mod (one of my favorite ones) which ads tons of new things, making minecraft even more fun some of the features are  :
1.) adds cauldrons which can be used to cook a lot of food at once (really useful for cooking non stackable foods like bread, and porkchops)
2.) adds power sources (windmills and watermills) which can be used to power various mechanisms
3.) adds some fancy features so your house will look even better etc....
here is a video showing most of the features and explaining how to use them

you can download the latest version of this mod on here
to install read the Readme.txt file which can be found in the rar archive.

Have fun and stay tuned to more updates!

Some interesting minecraft mods

I will introduce you to some minecraft mods that will make the game even more interesting to play and that may enable you to build even bigger structures, or add some fun features.

Setting up a server

In this guide I will teach you how to create you own minecraft server!
Personally I prefer the Bukkit server because it has a more friendly interface, installing mods onto it is much easier, and it has a wide selection of mods
It is simple to create a server and it takes around 10 minutes to create :
  1.  Download  CraftBukkit's latest build
  2. Put the .jar file in the directory you'd like the server to run from
  3. Open notepad and type:
@ECHO OFF
SET BINDIR=%~dp0
CD /D "%BINDIR%"
"%ProgramFiles%\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" -Xincgc -Xmx1G -jar craftbukkit-1.0.0-SNAPSHOT.jar
PAUSE
     4. Save the document as RUN.bat (not as a .txt)

     5. Double Click RUN.bat and you're away!

     6. When you're done toying, issue "stop" command in console.

     7. Edit the properties file if you want to change any settings.

Thats it you are ready to go and build it all in multiplayer !

Introduction

Hi, my name is Boris and I will be introducing you to some fun facts, tricks, tips, mods for Minecraft.
First of all Minecraft is a sandbox construction game, inspired by Infiniminer, Dwarf Fortress and Dungeon Keeper, created by Markus Persson, the founder of Mojang AB. The game involves players creating and destroying various types of blocks in a three dimensional environment. The player takes an avatar that can destroy or create blocks, forming fantastic structures, creations and artwork across the various multiplayer servers in multiple game modes.
Tough the game might seem simple and badly designed it isn't. The possibilities in this game are infinite:
you can build huge structures, make enormous and complex mechanisms using simple things like redstone, redstone wires and redstone repeaters. You can even make a computer !
