Minecraft on Xbox

While some savvy 360 owners have been playing Minecraftknock offs for some time now, the rest of you will get your chance to try the real deal in Spring of 2012. It isn't going to have all the features of its PC counterpart when it releases, but the XBLA version of Mojang's fantastic open-world create-anything-you-want game is still fun and addictive. And it has at least one component that all Minecraft players should envy.

The 360 version of Minecraft is still largely the same game. You drop into a world composed of various types of cubes, chipping away at them in an effort to gather resources and create new tools and items. At night monsters come out, forcing you to build structures to survive. It has a lot of the same appeal as working with a box of LEGO, only here you have to actually mine the right types of blocks to be able to make the various structures conceived in your mind's eye. You can play it just to go nuts creating, or you can build armor and weapons and go spelunking in caves, exploring and hunting for precious minerals. Minecraft isn't meant to be played a specific way, but rather is intended to be a true sandbox for you to play around in.

How to change texture pack in Minecraft

In this tutorial I am going to show you how to change texture your pack in your Minecraft :

Texture pack is a collection of files that is used to change the in-game textures of blocks, items, mobs and the GUI. They are .ZIP files that various PNG images in them and the pack .txt. The native resolution of Minecraft is  16
×16 (measured pixels in block height and widht). 32×32, 64×64, 128×128, 256×256 and 512×512 are reffered as 'HD' and requires a 3rd party patcher to run.

Installation guide
1. Download a texture pack in a ZIP file format, do not unzip.

2. Run Minecraft. If you already have minecraft running, make sure you save and quit the world. You need to be in in main menu to continue.

3. Click Texture Packs button and you will see that you only have classic texture pack.

4. You need to go to this location and put the .ZIP file on this location.
Windows XP/vista/7 : %appdata% \ .minecraft \ texturepacks
Linux : / .minecraft / texturepacks
Mac OS X :  /Libary /Application Support/minecraft/texturepacks (This folder may be hidden)

5. Open Texture Packs again and you will se another icon representing new texture pack

6. Select it and click OK

And you have your new texture pack. Enjoy.

Soon there will be a video explanation for all the users that didn't succeeded this way...

Minecraft mod : better than Wolves

This is an interesting mod (one of my favorite ones) which ads tons of new things, making minecraft even more fun some of the features are  :
1.) adds cauldrons which can be used to cook a lot of food at once (really useful for cooking non stackable foods like bread, and porkchops)
2.) adds power sources (windmills and watermills) which can be used to power various mechanisms
3.) adds some fancy features so your house will look even better etc....
here is a video showing most of the features and explaining how to use them
